After announcing the resumption of service, CV Interilhas once again suspends operations of the Liberdadi
CV Interilhas announced this Saturday that, following the arrival of the ship Liberdadi on the island of Santiago after its voyage from São Vicente, it was determined that technical repairs were needed, a situation that made it impossible to carry out the Santiago–Fogo–Brava voyage.
According to a statement from the shipping company, the ship is currently being worked on by a specialized technical team in order to restore it to operational condition and allow operations to resume as soon as possible.
It should be noted that on Friday, the company had announced the resumption of voyages by the ship Libertad for this Saturday, following the completion of repair work carried out at CABNAVE in São Vicente, as well as the corresponding sea trials.
Ferry service on the Santiago/Fogo/Brava route was suspended after the Liberdadi sustained propeller damage during a docking maneuver at the Port of Praia on Monday, July 20.
According to CV Interilhas, during docking, a fender protecting the pier came loose from its position, causing its steel cable to become entangled in the vessel’s port propeller.
